Tina is a proud First Generation Laotian and Vietnamese Woman born and raised in Providence, RI. She was raised by two strong, resilient immigrant parents, who taught her the values of love, hard work, and education, which continue to drive her in her aspirations today. After graduating from Classical High School, she attended Clark University where she received her B.A. in International Development and her M.A. in Community Development and Planning. Through her personal experiences, community involvement, and education she has found purpose in being a community activist and a mentor for young people. She has been a part of nonprofit work since she was 16 years old and worked on many issues including racial justice, LGBTQ rights, immigration reform, and education equity. She is devoted to empowering and supporting young people to think critically about their society, to challenge their world, and to live unapologetically in their skin. Currently, Tina works as the Development Director at Breaktime, located in Boston, MA.
