Teshia Levy-Grant is currently the Senior Vice President, Diversity, Equity Inclusion & Belonging Officer at Webster Bank. With more than 12 years of diversity and inclusion (D&I) experience, Teshia drives the bank-wide DEI&B strategy and initiatives. She champions, develops, executes and oversee the company’s DEI strategy and programs. She is responsible for formalizing a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the company as well as creating a long-term vision and strategic plan. Teshia leads the Diversity & Inclusion Council and works to expand the network of Business Resource Groups (ERGs) such as the Webster Women’s Initiative Network (WeWIN). In addition to leading Webster’s efforts internally, Teshia is responsible for expanding Webster’s diversity programs and partnerships within our local communities, as well as with colleges and universities.
Teshia spent most of her career in academia, prior to joining Webster Bank she was at Wesleyan University, where she spent four years as Dean for Equity and Inclusion. In this role, she provided leadership through the development and implementation of institutional-wide multicultural programming and created educational access opportunities to maintain a campus environment that was inclusive and diverse.
In addition to her leadership role at Wesleyan, and her role as an Anti-Bias and Diversity Education Program Facilitator for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of Connecticut, Teshia has provided guidance to educational administrators to drive and create organizational policies and procedures surrounding issues of inclusion and diversity. She also created and facilitated diversity programs and conducted workshops for students, teachers, administrators and staff. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Bay Path University in their Women’s empowerment and Leadership Development Programs (WELL).
Teshia holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a Master of Science in Counseling from Central Connecticut State University.
