Sulina is a proud graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where she
studied Human Development and Family Studies, Political Science, and Leadership Studies. She began her career as a special education teacher in Phoenix, Arizona. She also earned her masters degree in Special Education from Arizona State University. While
working within the special education system, she became very active in advocacy for students and families to ensure they receive the education and opportunities they are entitled to. She has worked in coaching and leadership roles in Washington, DC, Boston,
and her home state of Rhode Island.
Sulina is dedicated to empowering people to maximize their potential and bring out the best in those they work with and for. She believes every person and system has unique strengths that should be encouraged to create sustainable impact. She works with individuals, schools, non-profits, and companies to create engaged and inclusive environments, design programs to best meet the needs of the individuals and teams, and develop empowered leaders. Additionally, she works directly with youth in her community through
youth leadership programs and mentoring.
Sulina serves as the Vice-chair of the Nowell Leadership Academy School
Board, is on the Board of Directors for the University of Rhode Island Foundation and Alumni Engagement, and is the Treasurer of Leadership Rhode Island’s Board of Governors.
