Sonya Barbosa was born in Boston, MA but proudly raised in Central Falls, Rhode Island. She is the proud daughter of immigrant parents from Cape Verde, and grew up in a bilingual and bicultural home with five other siblings. After getting laid off from her day-to-day job six years ago, and driven by a strong desire for personal freedom, she took the leap to pursue her entrepreneurial spirit and launch her cleaning business: Mina’s Cleaning Services: Just Like Momma Cleans. She is proud of the growth of her company, which has grown throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts and includes residential and corporate clients. She also serves on the Central Falls Alumni Association, where she helps to raise funds to provide scholarships to high school graduates. She is the proud dog mom to her chihuahua Suga and loves the motto: Self love is the best love!
