Chief of Staff to Mayor Elorza, City of Providence
Nicole Pollock is a leader in the field of government innovation with experience in state, city, and non-profit organizational leadership. As the Chief of Staff to Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza, Pollock ensures the advancement of key Mayoral initiatives, manages union and large stakeholder negotiation processes and oversees the day-to-day operations of City departments. In this capacity she has led significant shifts in the programming and focus of the City’s neighborhood development programs, strategic partnership development to reduce long-term deficits within the City budget and the creation of outcomes-based routines within all City Departments. Pollock has also served as the Chief Policy Officer and Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Providence. Prior to joining the City of Providence Pollock oversaw policy and bond initiatives, communications, and new program development for the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. She served as Policy Director for Rhode Island Clean Water Action and as a consultant for numerous organizations including the Department of Health, Providence Plan and the Newport Housing Authority. Pollock is the Board President of the Providence Business Loan Fund and is a Board member of the Downtown Improvement District. She is active in her neighborhood, formerly serving as Vice-President of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association Board and as a member of the Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island Board. Pollock currently lives in the Elmwood neighborhood of Providence with her husband and two children.
