Kim Barker Lee created IGT’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion following her appointment to the role in 2018. She is responsible for leading IGT’s global diversity and inclusion strategy, programs, and initiatives. This includes all aspects of the employee experience across internal and external communications channels; enhancing inclusion capabilities, skills and behaviors; benchmarking and analyzing metrics and measurements; and fostering employee business resource groups and external partnerships. She is also a member of IGT’s Global Diversity and Inclusion Council and helps shape IGT’s supplier diversity programs.
Prior to her current role, Kim practiced governmental and public finance law in Chicago, Illinois, serving as the general counsel for Northstar Lottery Group, a majority-owned IGT affiliate, and the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. She was also a partner in two prominent law firms.
Kim has presented to organizations such as National Urban League, Global Gaming Women, North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, Advancing Workplace Excellence, Women in Public Finance, Providence Business News. She has also been a featured speaker at gaming industry tradeshows and events such as G2E, Global Gaming Women, International Association of Gaming Advisors (IAGA), and ICE London.
Kim is a graduate of Yale College and New York University School of Law. She serves on the Board of Trustees for the Community College of Rhode Island Foundation as second vice president and is chair of the foundation’s Governance Committee. In addition, she sits on the American Gaming Association’s Corporate Social Responsibility Committee and on U.S. Congressman Jim Langevin’s Diversity Advisory Committee.
Kim was recently recognized as a Top 100 Diversity Officers by the National Diversity Council and in 2020 was named one of Global Gaming Business’s 25 People to Watch for 2020.
