Guisela Pinto Caballero is a bilingual therapist in Providence, RI. As part of her private practice she also provides empowerment coaching and psychological evaluations for immigration cases. Guisela began her career working with children in a community mental health setting. Today, her private practice consists of adults, mainly women of color, between the ages of 20-60 years of age. Guisela’s main focus in therapy and coaching is geared towards empowering women to build and develop the relationship with themselves.
Guisela was born in Bolivia and raised in Providence, RI. She was the first in her family to graduate from college. This gives her a unique perspective in understanding the experience of immigrant and first generation latinos living in the United States. The strong ties to her Bolivian identity and culture have made it possible for her to financially support the only children’s library (Biblioteca Thuruchapitas) in her hometown of Cochabamba, Bolivia. She has also participated in a well known dance group here in Rhode Island that focuses on displaying Bolivian folklore. In service of the community and her love for all things Latino made, Guisela currently sits as a board member of PLAFF, the Providence Latin American Film Festival.
