Aida Patricia is Director of Administration in the Office of Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha, the first Latina to hold this position. She previously served in a senior executive role in the Office of United States Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI).
In addition, Aida served as the Deputy Secretary of State/Director of Personnel for Rhode Island Secretary of State A. Ralph Mollis. She was also the first Latina to hold the position of Director of Personnel for Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick Lynch. She is a past president of the International Personnel Management Association-Human Resources (IPMA-HR).
For more than 20 years, Aida has been highly-active in the Rhode Island Latino community, participating in the Year Up professional skills training program,
Quisqueya in Action, and served as a board member for both the Girl Scouts of Rhode Island and RISE.
Aida is the founder and chairperson of “Runway for a Cure,” Rhode Island’s annual Lupus Foundation of New England fundraising event. In the last ten years, the event has raised nearly $300,000 for Lupus awareness and research. Lupus, a long-term autoimmune disease with no known cure at this time, predominately affects women and individuals of color.
Aida has deep roots in the local, regional, and national pageant communities. She was crowned Miss Latina RI in 1989 and continues to serve as a consultant and trainer to the Miss USA Latina pageant organization. For the past 25 years, she has walked the runway in Boston, Rhode Island, and Montreal as a professional model.
