Jacqueline “Jackie” Gerena is currently the Director, Risk Management Strategy in the REMS and Risk Management Center of Excellence (RRM CoE) at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. In this role, Jackie oversees a team of Risk Management Leads in the newly created Risk Management Strategy organization within the RRM CoE. Alongside her team, she collaborates with cross functional stakeholders to positively impact critical program design and implementation; as well as development and execution of Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) and risk management programs across Janssen’s Therapeutic Areas.
Prior to joining Janssen Pharmaceutical, Jackie was Director, REMS Program Management at Aimmune Therapeutics, a Nestle Health Sciences Company. In that role she led the business operations for global and US risk management programs with a team of global experts responsible for design, build, and implementation of REMS and global risk management programs (RMPs) for Aimmune’s first product. Her leadership, dedication, and expertise during this most pivotal time for an organization, product launch, led to Jackie receiving a Pinnacle Award from the Aimmune Executive Leadership team. Jackie has also held roles of increasing responsibility at Titan Pharmaceuticals, Alexion Pharmaceuticals, and Aetna.
In addition to her experience in pharmaceutical risk management, Jackie is an Executive Board Member for Women of Color in Pharma and supports and advocates for the personal and professional development of Black and Latina women to transform the life sciences landscape for women of color. Furthermore, she is an Advisory Board Member for University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education.
Jackie is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, as well as a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Post University, and currently a Doctoral candidate in Business Administration at Liberty University. She resides in Connecticut with her husband José and daughters Taína and Isabella. Outside of work she enjoys traveling, retail therapy, advocacy, and spending time with her family.
