Alexandra Ocampo is a bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural people professional with over thirteen years of experience in human resources and multi-unit management and an additional three years of general management. Her areas of expertise include employee relations, diversity, equity & inclusiveness, talent and organizational culture, and benefits strategy. Her professional experiences include big-box retail, K-12 education, veterinary, public health, and aerospace.
Alex recently transitioned from her role as Human Resources Business Partner with Sikorsky Aircraft to the role of Senior Director of Total Rewards with Achievement First Public Charter Schools, where she will support the extraordinary staff of 41 schools with 15,000 students. Alex is a passionate cheerleader for those who are on a nontraditional path. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public & Private Sector Organizations from Brown University as a 30-year-old single mother and her Master of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Connecticut at age 43.
