Deputy Chief of Staff, City of Providence
Tracey M. Giron was born and raised in Central Falls, Rhode Island, while spending most of her early childhood in the City of Providence. She is a first generation Guatemalan-American who has a deep passion for public service, particularly in urban communities. Tracey currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff for Mayor Elorza in our beautiful Capital City of Providence, where she oversees the executive office departments, Human Relations Commission and serves as the City’s COVID-19 Liaison. Prior to her new role, she served as Chief of Staff to Mayor Diossa in Central Falls, and previous to that served as their first female Director of Parks and Recreation and Community Services Department. As a proud daughter of immigrants, she strives to help our latinx community feel more engaged with local government by practicing democracy. Additionally, she prides herself in being a full-time feminist and wishes to continue empowering woman to seek leadership positions and escalate to their full potential.
