Jen Hetzel Silbert, MSOD, has an unshakable belief that everyone is worthy of learning, working, and earning to their full potential. A master group facilitator, executive coach and force for positive change, Jen brings an infectious energy to her strength-based approaches to strategic planning, leadership development, culture building, and social innovation. She has a knack for challenging conventional thinking, a skill that has supported some of the highest rankings of the CIA, refugee survivors rebuilding a post-civil war Liberia, as well as a statewide strategic planning process that engaged thousands on complex issues such as education equity and earning power.
Jen and her husband/business partner, Tony Silbert, are among the early pioneers and practitioners of Appreciative Inquiry (AI), a world-renowned facilitation methodology grounded in neuroscience and positive psychology. In response to mounting anti-Black violence at Portland State University in September 2020, Jen partnered with a small team of AI behavior scientists, educators, activists, and technologists and co-facilitated a one-day 900+ person virtual summit on equity and social justice. Their Appreciative Inquiry Virtual Summit model continues to be studied for replication by colleges and universities around the world.
A TEDxProvidence speaker and emcee, serial mentor to emerging women leaders and youth, and marathon coach turned soccer mom to two powerhouse girls, Jen is based in southern Rhode Island, where she is a paddle boarding, trail hiking, dog running yogi.
